Intervention Orders
An intervention order (IVO) is a court order made by a Magistrate under the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 or the Stalking Intervention Orders Act 2008.
An application for an intervention order can be made under the Family Violence Protection Act where there is a family relationship or a person is or has been involved in a relationship.
An application for an intervention order can be made under the Stalking Intervention Orders Act 2008 where there is no family relationship or the parties are neighbours or friends.
If you need to make an intervention Order, or if somebody has applied for an IVO against you, it is recommended to seek legal advice immediately.
